Hello everyone!Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page.
Todays posting is devoted to Chicago Winter Railroading. Winter can be an adverse season for anybody who has to work outdoors. A heavy snowstorm fell on Chicago on this January morning in 1987. A Belt Railway of Chicago track maintenance crew, is seen manually shoveling out a track switch that became clogged with snow. An eastbound Norfolk Southern freight train passes in the distance. This photo was taken just west of the Belt Railway of Chicago / Grand Trunk Western crosstracks at Hayford Junction.
Eddie, Rich liked the photo you took so much, that he's going to put it on his Svengoolie website.

ReplyDeleteI never actually got to

it was a pleasure taking that
photo at the 1982 Berwyn Houby
Day Parade.
Also, I added a photo selection of Chicago area eateries. Some of these have since came and went. You can see the original Mount Pindo's at Archer and Pulaski and a few others at My linls page
"My Flickr Photo Pages" at the right of Your screen.
Thank You.
