Recreating the August 10th, 1972 merger of the Illinois Central, and the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio Railroad's in H.O Scale.
A photograph that is a scene right out of 1972. The "New"
railroad Illinois Central Gulf, operates a caboose hop with
a former Gulf, Mobile & Ohio Railroad Alco RS 1 diesel
locomotive acquired through merger, and a former and very
recently repainted Illinois Central Railroad steel side door
cupola caboose complete with ICG markings.

This photograph was taken facing west, from the CTA Howard Street
rapid transit station, in north suburban Evanston Illinois.
Suburban Transit General Motors 1950's era TDH transit bus. Oak Lawn Illinois. Circa late 1960's / early 1970's era.
One of the more colorful suburban bus companies that served
part of the greater Chicagoland area in the days before RTA
and Pace, was a company based in Oak Lawn Illinois known
as Suburban Transit.
These old 1950's era General Motors buses painted in this
unique and colorful paint scheme, served this company in
to the mid 1970's.
Bus fan's riding aboard a soon to be retired ,rehabbed 1960's era Milwaukee County Transit District GM "New Look" 40 foot transit bus. Milwaukee Wisconsin. May 2000.
This was one of several last run fantrips, that was sponsored
by the Omnibus Society of America, in the city of Milwaukee
Wisconsin, during 2000 and 2001. An era was ending.

My assigned bus, First Transit 2012, 35 foot Gillig # 1201, is
viewed at the departures terminal, as another day is coming to
a close, and soon nightfall will be upon the city of Chicago -
Illinois once more.

The old former Illinois Central Railroad swing bridge, over the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal. Chicago Illinois. Monday, June 15th, 2015.
Located east of the South Kedzie Avenue bridge, at approximately
what would be West 33rd Street. For many years, this bridge had
served the trains on the Illinois Central Railroad's Iowa
Division Mainline. Today it serves the freight trains of
successor railroad Canadian National.
2 foot narrow gauge steam locomotive # 242, is viewed arriving at the Hesston Junction depot, at the Hesston Steam Museum. Hesston Indiana. Saturday, September 27th, 2014.
This locomotive originally pulled trains at Chicago's
Brookfield Zoo. After many years in storage, you
can once again ride the old Brookfield Zoo train,
at The Hesston Steam Museum near the border
at neighboring New Buffalo Michigan.

Traveling eastbound over the Belt Railway of Chicago, near South
Austin Avenue, in Chicago's Garfield Ridge neighborhood.
Construction of the West 71st Street underpass viaduct. Bridgeview Illinois. September 2012.
Opened in 2013. This project replaced the railroad crossing
near Toyota Park, eliminating numerous train delays on
the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad line.

work this past Sunday morning. This BNSF Railway freight, is
viewed crossing West 55th Street near South Central Avenue,
and was enroute to the Belt Railway of Chicago's Clearing Yard
in nearby Bedford Park Illinois.
