Hi everyone!

Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page from the city of Chicago Illinois.

Chicago's winters aren't always covered with ice and snow. Sometimes cold but dry conditions prevail here in the windy city between snow storms.

I took this photo one morning, in January of 2006 on West Montrose Avenue on the northside of the city of Chicago Illinois.
Chicago's street sweeping season is normally sceduled to operate between April 1st and November 1st any given year. When those occasional dry conditions appear during what is normally the "Off Season" on Chicago's city streets, the City of Chicago Department of Streets and sanitation will dispatch a number of crews to maintain and clear the city's streets and boulevards of debris.

The City of Chicago Department of Transportation will also send out their crews to patch potholes and perform light paving details as well during these thaw cycles.

I really love the Streets and San pictures too. When I visit Chicago my sister-in-law teases me about the garbage truck photos I take.
