I photographed this unusual looking set of railroad crossing gates looking east on West Lake Avenue, in north suburban Glenview Illinois.
This railroad crossing gaurds the Union Pacific Railroad owned former Chicago & NorthWestern freight only cut off line. This is a bypass route for freight trains, and trains from the Union Pacific, BNSF Railway and the Canadian Pacific operate over this trunk line daily.
