I took this photo way back on Sunday, March 17th of 1985.
The Chicago Transit Authority 6000 series lightweight 1950's era rapid transit cars from the St. Louis Car Company, were nearing the end of their service lives.
I photographed this image, during the March 1985 "Snowflake Special" CTA rapid transit charter fantrip, that was sponsored by the Illinois Railway Museum in Union Illinois. www.irm.org
Before You wouod know it, the IRM began acquiring several of these CTA 6000 series cars before the year was over.
