The snowplows were in the ready since at least November of 2011 in the greater Chicagoland area, but so far...it has been a very rainy, mild and occasionally muddy Christmas Holiday Season for 2011 in Chicago.
After the huge 20.9 inch record snowfall from the Tuesday, February 1st, 2011 bliizard, I guess that it is obviously better to be safe than sorry.
You never know...Chicago's big snow could be on back order at this time. Better to be ready.
