I took this photograph last week Wednsday night, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.

I grew up on the near southwest side of Chicago during the 1960's and 70's, and I fondly remember the trains from the former Illinois Central Railroad, and the 1972 sucessor railroad Illinois Central Gulf.

Seen here is My Life Like Proto 2000 Series EMD SW 9 yard switcher and Athearn cars, representing a late 1960's or early 1970's era Illinois Central switching local.
