I took this photograph during a July 1988 visit to the Illinois Railway Museum, located in the town of Union Illinois. www.irm.org
It just wouldn't be a railroad museum, without a collection of cabooses that were once a part of everyday freight railroading in America.
Cabooses from the Former Elgin, Joliet & Eastern, the Illinois Central and the Illinois Central Gulf, are viewed parked in one of the museum yards on an overcast and humid summer day.
