The future Chicago Transit Authority orange line rapid transit to Chicago's Midway Airport was well under construction at the time of this photograph.
This view facing west from South Kostner Avenue near West 53rd Street, shows freshly poured concrete bridge piers near the future Midway terminal site east of South Cicero Avenue, near West 55th Street.
