Hi everyone!
This is Eddie K, your host and photographer here at Eddie's Railfan Page.

As you may have become aware in recent times, aside from my trains
and transportation interests, I am also an avid inline roller blade
skating enthusiast. I love to head to the park, and go roller blading
when the weather is nice outside.

I will be appearing for one month in May, on the popular local
Chicago area Comcast Public Access Channel  # 19 program,
known as "The Larry and Mike Show". The show times for
May 2015, are Saturday nights at 8:30 PM, and Sunday nights
at 7:00 PM. I will be appearing as a guest, on a show that
features roller blade skating, and Chicago area roller rinks
of the past, and present.

If you are in to roller skating, please stay tuned in May, to
the Larry and Mike Show, on the Comcast Public Access
Channel, Channel 19 in the greater Chicagoland area.

Thanks.

Chicago's old Manual steam era Brighton Junction. (Gone -Replaced) Photographed in early April of 2007.

For many years, one of my all time favorite railroad junctions
I had enjoyed visiting, was the old steam era Brighton Junction
near South Archer and Western Avenues, at the border of -
Chicago's Brighton Park and Mc Kinley Park neighborhoods
on the southside of Chicago.

Long obsolete, this old manually dispatched railroad junction
from the steam era, complete with mechanical semaphore -
signals and a wooden operator's shack, was closed in early
July of 2007, and upgraded with new signals, and remote -
dispatching. It was a place where new double stack trains,
met steam era railroading of the past.

I still can't believe, that I took this photograph 8 years ago.

I took this photograph, way back in November of 1988.

It was a lovely late autum afternoon with mild temperatures

This photograph was taken facing north along West 31st

Riding the shay powered steam train at the Hesston Steam Museum. Hesston Indiana. August 1984.

I took this now rare and historic photograph, during an August
1984, Railroad Club of Chicago fantrip excursion to the Hesston
Steam Museum in northwest Indiana. www.hesston.org

One year after I took this photograph, the museum's engine
house building burned to the ground on the opening day
weekend in May of 1985. The museum's 1927 built Shay
steam logging locomotive sown here, suffered bad damage,
and the wooden cars in this photo, were destroyed by the fire.

This very family friendly operating museum attraction, has
since rebounded very nicely. The Shay locomotive has since
been mechanically restored as well.
