I photographed this digital live sound video recently, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers,H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.
My used Athearn U.S.R.A light 2-8-2 Mikado that I re equipped with DCC and an MRC sound decoder, pulls a freight train through the ficticious and still under construction town of Stocton Illinois on the club layout.
I took this photograph one evening after work back in May of 2012.
An eastbound Metra local commuter train, is viewed idling at the La Grange Road station in downtown west suburban La Grange Illinois just before departure at days end.
I took this photograph way back in October of 1983.
Demoted steam era freight and passenger cars from the former Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad, are viewed long since reassigned to the railroad's Maintenance of Way Department car fleet.
These old cars, were parked near the crosstracks at Mc Cook Junction near Lyons Illinois.
The Prairie Trails Public Library located at 8449 Moody Avenue in Burbank Illinois, welcomes local Chicago historian, photographer and internet site host Edward Kwiatkowski to the library on Tuesday night, February 19th from 7:00 until 8:00 PM.
Eddie, who is the host of the popular Chicago area internet transporation photo site known as "Eddie's Railfan Page" http://eddiesrailroad.blogspot.com, will be hosting a multi media slideshow and lecture about Chicago's once numerous and now long gone seasonal family owned amusement parks of the past.

An Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad transfer train heading south / southeast through Alsip Illinois, passes my camera location just immediately southeast of the West 127th Street viaduct bridge.
I took this photograph while out enjoying a ride on my 12 speed mountain back, way back in April of 1989.
An eastbound Bekins Van Lines semi tractor trailer moving truck, is viewed exiting the I-55 Stevenson Expressway, and entering on to South Pulaski Road just north of West 40th Street on the southwest side of Chicago.
I took this photograph way back in October of 1983.
The Grand Trunk Western Railroad's Elsdon Yard located on West 51st Street between South Lawndale Avenue on the west, and South St. Louis Avenue on the east, was actually in it's final week of operation, as the GTW was moving it's freight car terminal operations, to the Belt Railway of Chicago's Clearing Yard near Midway Airport.
The old steam era former Elsdon passenger station built in 1888, was demolished one month after I took this photograph. I am so glad that I took this photograph when I had the opportunity to do so back in 1983.

I took this photograph, during a September 1990 visit to the Fox River Trolley Museum, which is located along the west bank of the Fox River along Illinois Rt # 31, in the town of South Elgin Illinois.
Part of the many displays outdoors on the museum grounds, are these heavy weight 1920's era rebuilt interurban coaches, from the Chicago, South Shore And South Bend Railroad, which operated in daily commuter train service between Chicago Illinois and South Bend Indiana, until replaced by new light weight equipment in 1983.
I took this now historic photograph from the southwest side of Chicago, way back in early March of 1989.
We are facing east at South Pulaski Road at approximately West 51st Street, in Chicago's Archer Heights neighborhood.
After years of planning, the Chicago Transit Authority's much planned "Southwest Elevated" project to Midway Airport as it was known as then, was officially now under construction begining in early 1989.
This "New" rapid transit line, utilized the right of way of the recently abandoned Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad owned "Stockyards branch", which is viewed being torn up in the photograph at the South Pulaski Road railroad crossing, just immediately south of Curie High School.
During 1993, the Chicago Transit Authority officially began to color code their rapid transit system routes, with this line becoming the CTA orange line, upon the routes opening in November of 1993.

Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page, from the city of Chicago Illinois USA.
The winter season in the Chicago area, can sometimes be notoriously long, cold, snowy and often very overcast.
I photographed this lonely scene of a deserted local Chicagp Park District playground, along South Keeler Avenue near West 57th Street in Chicago's Westlawn neighborhood near Midway Airport.
It was too cold for most anyone to be outside, and it looks like even the playground equipment can't wait for spring.
Chicago's winter of 2013, has been pretty dry with no snow, and temperatures fluctuating between the low 20's to upper 30's so far.

An eastbound Burlington Northern Railroad / early Metra local comuter train, is viewed on approach to the Brookfield Metra commuter rail station at nearby Prairie Avenue in west suburban Brookfield Illinois.

Looking west from the top of the South Pulaski Road overpass bridge over the I-55 Stenson Expressway on the near southwest side of Chicago, We see several piggyback flat cars and truck trailers, at the former Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad's small yard along the north side of the Stenson Expressway.
I took this photograph, during a 1990 visit to the Fox River Trolley Museum, located along the west bank of the Fox River, in the town of South Elgin Illinois.
Railroad museum's often can be the home to some unique size comparisons in vintage railway equipment on site.
The car to the left, is a streamlined postwar PCC electric city streetcar from the San Francisco Municipal Railway. The car to the right, is a heavy weight electric interurban coach from the Chicago, South Shore And South Bend Railroad.
An interesting comparison indeed.

I took this photograph, way back in April of 1989.
I used to pass by this old 1950's and 60's era gasoline station along the north side of West 16th Street in Berwyn Illinois during my many weekend rides on my 12 speed mountain bike.
The Milk Depot, was a classic Mom and Pop owned neighborhood gasoline station business from Chicago's past. It still had that nice vintage neighborhood feel about it back in the late 1980's.
