A westbound Union Pacific freight train is passing through Hayford Junction at 76th street and south St Louis avenue on Chicago's Southwest side. The large factory in the background is the Nabisco Plant. An afternoon of train watching at this location many times found the air filled with the smell of fresh cookies baking. Notice MissouriPacific markings on lead locomotive. The Union Pacific Railroad Merged and bought out the Missouri Pacific Railroad in the early 1980's.
The train is heading to the Belt Railway of Chicago's Clearing Yard, near the Ford City Shopping Center.
