From Nerska east was the Santa Fe Junction Yard extending east under the Pulaski Road bridge which was cleaning tracks for empty SFRD ice bunker refrigerator cars moving California produce to the rest of America much of it through the Chicago Produce Terminal operated jointly by the IC & ATSF on the west side of Western Avenue north of the Chicago River.
Google Earth sez: The CPT was south of the river, from around Ash Street eastward to Ashland Avenue with Damon Avenue (The Richard J Daley Expressway) passing overhead.
