I took this photo on a quiet Sunday afternoon in January of 2009. Seen here looking north from the Belmont Avenue railroad crossing, is a southbound Canadian National freight train waiting on a hold order in northwest suburban Franklin Park Illinois. I had the experience of single digit outdoor temperatures at this location just before sunset. It was bitterly cold and windy. The crosstracks just south of here, wa being held for Metra and Canadian Pacific traffic at the time of this photo.
It was a long wait out in the cold for this CN crew.
