Seen here in 1990, is an eastbound IHB freight train passing through south suburban Alsip Illinois and entering the town of Blue Island.
This was photographed by Myself just south of the 127th Street highway underpass bridge.
This train is being pulled by elderly 1st Generation EMD NW 2 diesel switchers.

In my short time switching at Argo there were two kinds of jobs, four hours or so in the yard or 12 to 16 hours on transfers. There is no place to eat on the IHB so I would bring a giant cooler with two meals. Smaller railroads dieselized overnight and the IHB was one of the first.
