There is nothing like seeing a classic photo of North American railroading during the steam era. It is even better yet, when a "Rare" one in color just happens to show up occasionally.

I spotted this rare color photo from 1949 on the internet recently.

This Western Pacific Railroad passenger train powered by an early 1940's era Lima semi streamlined GS 64 class 4-8-4 locomotive, is viewed in Winnemucca Nevada on a clear sunny day.
