I took this photograph way back in late October of 1989.

An era is ending on the former Chicago & Northwestern Railroad commuter lines, as the RTA's last three early 1950's era EMD E 8 streamlined passenger diesel locomotives, are officially being retired from Chicago commuter train operations.

This photo runby, was photographed at Ridgefield Illinois near the town of Harvard.
