Jed's Texaco gasoline service station. (Gone - Demolished.) Chicago Illinois. Early April 1986.

Hi everyone!
This is Eddie K, your host and photographer here at Eddie's Railfan Page.

When I was growing up on the near southwest side of Chicago many years ago, there were still several decades old unique neighborhood landmarks to be found most anywhere around Chicago.

One landmark I fondly remember, was the old fashioned 1940's era (Or earlier) Jed's Texaco gasoline service station. This tiny neighborhood gasoline station, was located at the northeast corner of South Kedzie Avenue and West 27th Street, in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood.

This photograph was taken way back in early April of 1986, shortly after it was announced on local Chicago television news, that Texaco was leaving the state of Illinois.

This old fashioned gasoline station from a bygone and nostalgic era, was eventually demolished. The garage in the background still stands today, and is now a privately owned local auto repair shop.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
