I took this photo one cold winter morning in early March of 2010, in far north suburban Rondout Illinois.
One of the last operating wooden interlocking towers that is still in existance located in the greater Chicagoland area today, is the former Milwaukee Road tower at Rondout Illinois. This view is facing southwest. The track in the foreground, is the Canadian National's former Elgin, Joliet & Eastern line. Out of view behind the nearby trees, is the Metra / Canadian Pacific ex Milwaukee Road north line to Fox Lake Illinois.
