I found this vintage General Motors transit bus photograph at my
Link page Northern California Bus Fans, which is located to
the right of your computer screen at www.norcalbusfans.com
A standard model of transit bus found in most American cities beginning in
1945, and lasting in to the 1970's in some places, was the General Motors
pre 1959 "Old Look" standard models. With their classic rounded contours,
and standee windows, these buses were an American icon from post war times.
This classic 1950's era GM bus from the Saint Louis Public Service Company
of Saint Louis Missouri, may have been one of the late 1950's era models, as it is
equipped with an early model of a roof top transit bus air conditioning system.
This photograph was taken in 1968.
