I took this photo one hot summer afternoon in June of 2007. Seen here parked on the interchange connection lead track, is a Norfolk Southern Railroad transfer freight train. The train is waiting for clearance from the dispatcher to depart from the Belt Railway of Chicago tracks, and enter on to the Canadian Pacific ex Milwaukee Road mainline at Cragin Junction. Cragin Junction is located just east of the intersection of Grand and Cicero Avenues on the northside of the city of Chicago Illinois. Cragin Junction is the north terminal and interchange for the Belt Railway of Chicago.Friday, May 23, 2008
