Craigin Junction. Chicago Illinois USA. December 2006.
Seen above waiting on the BRC /CP interchange curve connecting track, is a soon to be westbound Canadian Pacific Railroad transfer train. We are at "Craigin Junction" just east of the intersection of Cicero and Grand Avenues on Chicago's northside. This is where the Belt Railway of Chicago's north / south connecting line ends -and the east / west Canadian Pacific -Ex Milwaukee Road mainline connects. Notice the 2nd unit still in Milwaukee Road orange and black color scheme and the last unit in Soo Line "Red" color scheme. The Soo Line bought out the very bankrupt Milwaukee Road through merger in 1985, and the Canadian Pacific bought out the Soo Line railroad in the year of 1990 through merger likewise. Old paint schemes live on, 2006.
