Crossing the former Illinois Central crosstracks at Hawthorne Junction, is a northbound Canadian National Railroad freight train. Prior to 1990, a wooden interlocking tower stood where that silver signal cabinet behind the small Chain Link fence is seen to the left of the photo.Hawthorne Junction is located just east of the suburban village of Cicero Illinois.
