Old color schemes die hard. A southbound Canadian Pacific freight train, with diesels still painted and lettered for the Soo Line Railroad, is approaching the Junction with the Canadian National RR's former Illinois Central Iowa division mainline. The Canadian Pacific Railroad bought out the old Soo Line Railroad through merger in 1990. 17 years later, there is still plenty of Soo Line painted equipment to be seen in Chicago, including wide vision cabooses too.Chicago winter railroading in the 21st century.
The crew on this train saluted Me with a toot on their air horns and a friendly wave.
