Chicago Surface Lines electric streetcar # 1374 arriving at the Electric Park trolley waiting shelter. The Illinois Railway Museum. August 2000.
I took this photo on an August 2000 visit to the Illinois Railway Museum, located in Union Illinois. A group of museum visiting patrons are waiting to board Chicago Surface Lines electric streetcar # 1374, wich was built by the St. Louis Car Company in 1906. The Electric Park trolley waiting shelter, is located on the east end of the museum's demonstration shuttle trolley loop that encircles the immediate museum property. It is patterned after shelters that once existed on the Chicago & west Towns Railway, or perhaps simular ones used on streetcar lines in other North American and Canadian citties years ago.
