I took this photo in near northwest suburban Franklin Park Illinois on Saturday, August 1st 2009. On display next to preserved Historic Tower B-12, was visiting Southern Pacific steam locomotive # 4449 from Portland Oregon. Seen here up close, are the main driving wheels, the piston rods and running gear of this 1941 built passenger steam locomotive. This preserved GS-4 class 4-8-4 steam locomotive, had just recently traveled to Owosso Michigan to attend Trainfest 2009.
