Preserved Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-6-4 Hudson type steam locomotive # 3006. Galesburg Illinois USA. June 1985.
I took this photo during a June 1985 20th Century Railroad Club of Chicago excursion to the Galesburg Illinois Railroad days Celebration. Seen here is the centerpiece of the Galesburg Railroad Museum. Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad steam locomotive # 3006, is a 4-6-4 hudson Type steam locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philadelphia Pennsylvania in 1930. It was used in fast passenger train service until the end of steam during the late 1950's. It was donated to the city of Galesburg Illinois for display in 1961.
