Westbound Metra evening rush hour express commuter train. Chicago Illinois USA. May 2007.
I took this photo after work one afternoon, in May of 2007.
An exciting photo location to experience frequent Metra commuter train activity during rush hour periods, is the tiny Hanson Park commuter rail flagstop depot adjacent to the North Central Avenue overpass bridge, just south of Grand Avenue.
This location is on the Canadian Pacific ex Milwaukee Road west line to Elgin Illinois. During the afternoon and evening rush hour commuting period, many fast moving express commuter trains come whipping through the station. The low leval boarding platforms have ground leval flashing warning devices with bells to warn people of the upcoming trains. Here a somewhat blurred speeding westbound express comes racing by My camera. Danger! Stand back!
