I took this photo in August of 2006, at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union Illinois. Car # 415 shown here, is a typical lightweight Interurban streetcar from the late Teens and early 1920's era. According to the destination sign, it originally worked on the Illinois Terminal Railroads -Illinois Valley line, wich had served the Starved Rock State Park in Utica Illinois, and other surrounding farm town communities. It ended it's working days in suburban streetcar service in June of 1958, traveling between East St.Louis Illinois, and St. Louis Missouri. Notice the single chime airhorn on the roof for use in mainline operation. The car also has a standard streetcar bell, for use when operating on city streets. The shades of green on the front doors, gives evidence of recent touch up paint jobs and maintenance work.
