Restored 1907 vintage Alco 4-6-0 # 1385 from the Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad, was seen simmering away inside the trainshed at the old NorthWestern Station in downtown Chicago Illinois in 1983.This locomotive is owned by the Mid Continent Railway Museum, located in North Freedom Wisconsin near the Wisconsin Dells and Baraboo Wisconsin, and was being utilized for a series of mainline excursion specials along the Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad.
An operating volunteer crewmember from the Mid Continent Railway Museum is answering questions from visiting curiosity seekers. The locomotive was on it's way back to Wisconsin, and was spending a few days on display inside Northwestern Station in downtown Chicago Illinois.
