I took this photo on a sunny afternoon, way back in March of the year 1987. A southbound BRC switching local, is seen returning to Clearing Yard in Bedford Park Illinois. The train is passing over the Illinois Central Gulf crosstracks at Hawthorne Junction. At the time of this photo, a large dirty looking victorian era interlocking tower stood out of view to the left of the locomotive, and was manned by ICG crews. It was known as Belt Tower, and was located just east of Cicero Illinois at the Chicago city limits around West 33rd Street.
