I took this photo on a lovely Saturday afternoon, in April of 1987. An eastbound Belt Railway of Chicago transfer train, has just left the BRC Clearing Yard, and is proceeding eastbound across the GTW crosstracks at Hayford Junction.
Hayford Junction is located at West 75th Street and South Central Park Avenue in Chicago's Ashburn neighborhood. Notice the 2nd diesel locomotive in American Bicentenial 1976 era colors and the short BRC transfer caboose. One of these little BRC transfer cabooses is now preserved at the Illinois Railway Museum located in Union Illinois.
