Eastbound Norfolk Southern Railroad unit grain train. Chicago Illinois USA. October 2006.

I took this photo looking east, at the Metra Hanson Park commuter rail depot. The freight train is on a bypass track that avoids the commuter train right of way through here. The train is heading east over the Canadian Pacific RR trackage to Craigin Junction, wich is located just east of Cicero and Grand Avenues. Here the train will proceed south on the Belt Railway of Chicago to Clearing Yard, located in southwest suburban Bedford Park Illinois USA. After work, I would see this train once more on southbound BRC trackage. The train was on a hold order, and was stuck in a railroad traffic jam with other trains on the same track. Junctions get busy at times.
