I took this photo looking east on w 31st Street near south Sacramento Boulevard, in October of 1986. Seen here loaded on a Chicago Fire Department flatbed trailer, is a privately owned antique steam pumper from the 1800's.An older Chicago Fire Department officer had just recently made the news in the Chicago Sun Times newspaper, for displaying his pumper at various local civic events around Chicago.
I spotted his pumper on w 31st Street near the Chicago Fire Department maintenance garage.
