I took this photo of a public swimming pool with a water slide, near the Franklin Park Metra commuter rail station, back in April of 2007.One of the loneliest sights I have come to behold, is that of an empty outdoor swimming pool during the off season. On a cloudy overcast day, one can feel the yearning of a warmer past or upcoming summer season with children and families laughing, splashing and frolicking in the water.
It has been a long and bitterly cold Chicagoland winter, and soon the pool will be recieving some much needed seasonal maintenance and preparations, for the upcoming summertime use.
