I took this photo at the Kettle Moraine Railway in Northlake Wisconsin, during an August 1985 fantrip with The Railroad Club of Chicago. This was My one and only visit to this now defunct tourist railroad. Seen here at the Northlake depot, is steam locomotive # 9 and train waiting for departure. Locomotive # 9 was built in 1901 by the Baldwin locomotive Company, and pulled logging trains for the Mc,Cloud River railroad in Northern California. This locomotive is a 2-6-2 prairie type, and was equiped with two different whistles, at least in tourist railway service.Thursday, June 21, 2007
