I took this photo in northwest suburban Schiller Park Illinois, one morning in May of 2007.
A tractor and trailer tank truck, is seen refueling a diesel locomotive on site. Some railroad terminals are not blessed with fueling stations, and occasionally outside sources of diesel fuel have to be trucked in and pumped on site.
After the closing of the Grand Trunk Western Elsdon roundhouse and engine servicing facility
in Chicago Illinois, locomotives were staged by the yard office curve on west 51st Street, and refueled in the same style shown here.
