An overcast morning in the spring of 1983, finds this inbound train of electric Interurban / Commuter coaches from the South Shore railroad, arriving at the Randolph Street station.
The Chicago, South Shore & South Bend Railroad had just recently upgraded their roster with these new lightweight cars, and soon the old wooden platforms seen here, would be replaced by concrete ones. This site has since been redeveloped, and is now Chicago's Millenium Park. An overhead concrete and steel deck now covers this view, moving the train station into an underground subway style configuration today.
