The railroad crossing gate mechanism box on the foreground, is gleaming in a fresh coat of silver paint, as a westbound CP Rail freight train approaches the grade crossing on 25th Avenue in downtown Franklin Park Illinois. The train is being lead by two former Soo Line locomotives, that are still in the former railroads colors and markings after all of these years. The Canadian Pacific merged and absorbed the former Soo Line in a 1990 merger. Old and new equipment and color schemes is an everyday sight in Franklin Park Illinois. This is a very busy railroad junction and freight yard town in Chicago's northwest suburbs, near O'Hare International Airport.Monday, June 25, 2007
