Historic Photo! Chicago Motor Coach Company White transit bus # 3483 heading eastbound on West 63rd Street alongside Chicago's Midway Airport. Chicago Illinois. October 1946.

I found this historic photo from Chicago's southwest side on the internet today, and could not resist the opportunity to post it today.

Seen here from a website called Nor Cal Bus Fans, is this old historic photo of an eastbound Chicago Motor Coach Company 1940's era White transit bus on West 63rd Street just east of the intersection at South Central Avenue.

In the background is non other than Chicago's Midway Airport along the north side of West 63rd Street. Opened in 1926, it was origianlly named Chicago Municipal Airport. After World War 2, it was renamed to Chicago Midway Airport in honor of the 1942 American victory in the battle of Midway Island in the Pacific Theatre of war operations.
