This photo was taken by My Mother, during a November 1976 very late season visit to The Illinois Railway Museum in Union Illinois. Here I am, a then 14 year old future host and photographer of Eddie's Railfan Page.
The Illinois Railway Museum was rather small and quaint back then compared to todays standards. There were only a display barn or two, and most of the museum locomotives and rolling stock were stored outdoors. Heck! There wasn't even a trolley loop yet.
The Illinois ailway Museum has most certainly come a long way from it's very humble beginings. The place boomed during the 1980's and 90's with many improvements that We take for granted today.
