I took this photo after work one day, in March of 2007. I was spending some quality railfanning time with a camera in My hand at Hawthorne Junction. After a lenghty BNSF Railway transfer train finally cleared the Belt Railway of Chicago / Canadian National ex Illinois Central crosstracks, this short switching freight proceeded east to nearby Crawford Yard, to assemble a train of tank cars. Winter was ending, and the official first day of spring was approximately one week away.Thursday, July 19, 2007
