This is one of My all time favorite railroad photos. This northbound Canadian Pacific intermodal transfer train, is passing over the former Illinois Central crosstracks at Hawthorne Junction. The steel signal shed behind the chain link fence, was originally the site of an old wooded interlocking tower, that was demolished in 1990. The hill to the left of the train, is the site of the long abandoned Bel Air Drive In movie theatre. The Canadian Pacific still has a good number of these former Soo Line cabooses on their roster in 2007, and they are used quiete a bit on numerous locals and transfer freights.
