I took this photo after work one day in early July of 2007. An eastbound CSX Transportation Co intermodal transfer train, has just crossed over the now single ex GTW crosstrack at Hayford Junction. The ex GTW north and south track is now officially owned by the Canadian National railroad. Hayford Junction is located at West 75th Street and South Central Park Avenue in Chicago's Ashburn Neighborhood. The east and west tracks seen here, belong to the Belt Railway of Chicago, and feature numerous transfer trains from various railroads. South of Hayford Junction, the CN's former GTW line is mainline, however, the line north of the junction today is an industrial spur branch serving the former Elsdon Yard site. The former Elsdon Yard site, is now used by the Canadian National Railroad, as a construction and other materials storage site.
