I took this photo Monday night, July 9th 2007. An incoming thunderstorm was slowly arriving on the west side of Chicago, as a southbound Iowa, Chicago & Eastern Railroad transfer train is seen traveling over the Belt Railway of Chicago. The train is passing over the Union Pacific West line, Ex C&NW, just north of West Lake Street.
In the background is the abandoned Brach's candy factory. The train has just passed through Cragin Junction approximately one mile to the north of this photograph.
