I took this photo in January of 2007, in near southwest suburban Hodgkins Illinois. A Union Pacific intermodal transfer train on the left, is being taken over during what looked like a slow speed race to the BNSF Railway intermodal yard in nearby Willow Springs Illinois.
Prior to the 1995 merger of the Burlington Northern, and the Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe that created todays BNSF Railway...This was the Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe mainline.
The Chicago to Los Angeles A,T & S,F Superchief
and El Capitain streamlined passenger trains with red and silver Warbonnet cab unit diesels, would speed through here daily in years past.

Looks like you're about as far behind with posting your photos as I am with mine! LOL...
I used to shoot photos at the old Willow Springs passenger depot. Sadly, all of those photos are gone.
Along with a ton of old photos from the late 70's of the BN and IHB in La Grange.
