The bus terminal at West 63rd Street and South Archer Road / U.S Route # 171. Summit Illinois USA. May 2006.
I took this photo one morning, in May of 2006. This is the bus turnaround loop shared by both Chicago Transit Authority, and suburban Pace buses at West 63rd Street and South Archer Road, in the southwest suburban village of Summit Illinois.
On this SW corner the geography has changed. There were buildings facing Archer and the corner two story brick building was a bar. On Christmas day 1966 the Argo Trainmaster, one of the last of the black pin stripe three piece suit guys, and I, the yard clerk, ran the yard from bar stools. Double time and one half holiday pay.
