I took this photo looking west from 75th Avenue, in near northwest suburban Elmwood Park Illinois. New Years Day, usually is a very quiet day on any given year due to numerous business establishments being closed, and people mostly staying indoors with their familys or watching football on television. When the quiet and the hours inside got to be a little much, I put on My coat and took a walk in the fresh and cold air. Even the Canadian Pacific ex milwaukee Road mainline seemed forelorn of any train traffic.Still, this was the very 1st day of 2008.
