Autum on West Erie Street in Chicago's Ukranian Village neighborhood. Chicago Illinois. October 2006.

I took this photograph one lovely autum morning back in October of 2006.

A local school bus driver has parked his International school bus on West Erie Street in Chicago's Ukrania Village neighborhood near his house. It is time to enjoy a much deserved rest at home during his lunch break between the split route runs.

Those classic roof top industrial water tanks like the one seen in the background to the left, have become a vanishing sight in Chicago during recent years.

Check out that water tower, classic old symbol of our manufacturing / industrial past. Not may of those left anymore. Wonder if this one still survives.
