Eastbound Burlington Northern freight train with a caboose. Berwyn Illinois. July 1985.

I took this photograph on a hot summer day, way back in July of 1985.

An eastbound Burlington Northern Railroad freight train with a wide vision caboose bringing up the rear, passes through the Berwyn Illinois Metra commuter rail station in Chicago's western suburbs.

Cabooses were disappearing from the rear ends of America's freight trains during the 1980's, but the BN was a late user of this piece of railroad equipment history through out most of the 1980's.

Thanks.
Eddie K.
